Feedback and bug reports

Where to send a bug, a feature request, or a question about your data.

← Sextant

Sextant's source repository is not public, so there is no issue tracker on it you could reach. Instead there is a small public repository that exists only to receive reports, no code in it, just the tracker: github.com/knaxly-dev/sextant-feedback.

Filing needs a GitHub account. That is worth knowing before you start writing rather than at the form. There is deliberately no form on this site: a hosted form service would route what you write through a third party, and that third party would then have to appear in our privacy policy. We would rather have one fewer company in the middle.

What makes a report easy to act on

Do not paste secrets into an issue. The tracker is public. Never include a GitHub token, an Anthropic API key, a session cookie, or source code from a private repository. If a token has been exposed anywhere, revoke it first at github.com/settings/tokens. That is faster and more effective than deleting the message.

Security reports

Do not open a public issue for a vulnerability.

The tracker above is public and indexed. Report security findings privately through GitHub's private vulnerability reporting, which opens a draft advisory only you and we can read:

Report a vulnerability privately

Include what you did, what happened, and what you think the impact is. If you are unsure whether something counts as a security issue, use this route anyway; it is easy to move a report into the open later, and impossible to take one back.

Privacy questions

Questions about what Sextant stores or transmits are welcome through the same tracker, and the privacy policy is the reference document; it goes feature by feature, and it names Knaxly Ltd as the data controller and the ICO as the authority you can complain to. If you want everything Sextant holds about you gone, you do not need to ask us: click Clear all in the extension's Options page, or uninstall the extension. Nothing about you is kept on our side to delete.
