Caption

A subtitle editor that runs entirely in your browser. Load an SRT or VTT file, edit and resync the cues, convert between formats, then export. Nothing is uploaded.

01 Load subtitles

Drop an .srt or .vtt file here
or click to browse

02 Edit cues

No cues yet. Load a file or paste text above.

03 Resync timing

Positive delays subtitles, negative moves them earlier. Times never go below zero.
Fixes frame-rate drift. Give a current time and the correct time for two moments; all cues are rescaled linearly.

04 Convert and export

05 Preview and validation

Nothing to preview yet.
No cues loaded.

06 Burn subtitles into video

Coming soon. Burning captions permanently into a video (hardsubbing) is on the roadmap and will use in-browser ffmpeg.wasm, the same engine as our video tool. For now, finish the job in Mux, which already runs ffmpeg locally in your browser.
